Ulster Farm by-Products Ltd (UFBP) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glenfarm Holdings Ltd , a farmer owned co-operative based in Northern Ireland. For over fifty years we have been operating a collection, processing and recovery service for the animal by-products, arising from the the food supply chain throughout Ireland. Servicing the entire sector from the farm gate through abattoirs, processors and finally to retail outlets, UFBP processes all grades of animal by-products.
The Management Team
Chief Executive - Claire Thompson
A graduate of the University of Ulster and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Claire joined Glenfarm Holdings in 2000. She has held senior management roles in the engineering, manufacturing and utility industries. Appointed Group Chief Executive in 2003, Claire is responsible to the board of Glenfarm Holdings Ltd for the direction and overall leadership of its operating businesses.
Company Secretary - Syd Spence
Syd has been with the company for thirty years. He was appointed Company Secretary in 1981 and is responsible for the legal, human resource, I.T. and corporate governance functions within the group.
Operations Director - Gary Millar
A graduate of the University of Ulster, Gary began his career as a development chemist and has subsequently gained experience in a number of senior operational management positions. Gary joined Glenfarm in 2001 and has responsibility for rendering operations at Ulster Farm.
Technical Director - Tony Addis
Tony joined Ulster Farm in 1973 and since then his roles have included works chemist, production manager and rendering operations manager. He has gained wide experience in the operational, environmental and technical fields. He is responsible for all technical matters within the group combined with an operational overview at Lisburn Proteins. Tony currently serves on the UKRA technical committee.
Commercial Director - Rodney Hume
Rodney's career began in the mid 1980's in supermarket retailing. He spent 16 years in various purchasing and trading roles in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. Rodney joined Glenfarm in 2002 and his role covers all external commercial activities within the group.
